SEA-PAC 2018 Update – May 17.

If you haven’t already registered, you can still register online for only a few more days.

The online registration will be open until May 29. Please note that tickets will now be held for you at Will-Call in the convention center lobby.

The two Friday workshops and all flea-market tables and the DX lunch tickets are SOLD OUT.  Tickets are still available for the banquet and YL Luncheon.

Please note that if you have purchased workshop tickets, your registrations are being held at that venue for when you check in.  The Antenna Modeling workshop has been moved to the Seaside Elks Club, 324 Avenue A, Seaside, OR 97138.  The Emergency Communications and Preparedness Workshop will be held at the Convention Center in Riverview A/B/C.  No other exhibits or the flea-market will be open on Friday.  Please plan to attend the Seminars, flea market, commercial exhibits and other activities on Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3.

For those of you in Seaside Friday evening, we invite you to come down to the beach, west of the Shilo Inn.  Some hams will have portable stations set up including a 160 meter antenna suspended from a sled kite.  If you have a portable station, bring it along and test the salt water amplifier effect. Meet other hams and families, and enjoy the sunset.  We will save some sand for you.

Saturday morning about 11:30 there is a fun balloon launch that will carry a bag of paper airplanes.  You and the kids might even be asked to fold a couple for the cargo!

There is also a free program at Broadway Middle School, 630-800 PM Saturday Evening for families who do not attend the banquet.  Bruce Jones, Deputy Director of the Columbia River Maritime Museum, will present a program on Maritime Disasters and Safety at Sea. The Columbia River bar is among the most dangerous crossings in the world.

We’ve also added more prizes to the drawings. Take a look at the web site for the new prize list.

Many of the hotel and motels have already received reservations for this year’s convention. Attendees are encouraged to make reservations now.

Check the lodging special rates at www.seapac.org on the Sponsor Lodging Page. When you call the hotel directly, be sure to tell them you want the SEA-PAC rate.

We are continuing to look for a few more additional volunteers for various positions.  If you can help for just an hour or two that would be great.  Plus, we’ll enter you into a drawing for each hour you volunteer.  Reply to volunteers@seapac.org and someone on the committee will get back to you.

Visit www.seapac.org for additional details, to register and see even more information as it becomes available.

Plan now to bring the family for a wonderful weekend at SEA-PAC, located in Seaside, Oregon near the beautiful Pacific Ocean beach.
